Thank you for your interest in joining the East Valley Service Club!

Club History:

The club was founded in 2005 in Tempe, Arizona as the "East Valley Boys Service Club" and dedicated to providing young men and their parents the opportunity to become involved in community service.

In 2022, based on feedback from existing members, and to be more inclusive, the East Valley Service Club changed its name to East Valley Service Club (EVSC) and now welcomes all students, not just boys.

Throughout its history, the members have volunteered more than 5,000 hours per year to our philanthropies.  We are very proud of the fact that even during the pandemic, the Club provided its members with ways to support the community through at home projects, like making mats for the homeless, or greeting cards for disabled veterans and senior citizens.

Our Goals:

  • Serve the Community: Establish an appreciation for diversity and develop a sense of social responsibility by volunteering time and talents to EVSC philanthropies.
  • Develop Personal Growth:  Build self-esteem and a generous spirit by giving of themselves and their time.
  • Strengthen Relationships: Strengthen family bonds and create lifelong friendships.

Membership Requirements:

  • Must reside in the "East Valley'. Over the years the regions defined as the "East Valley" of Phoenix has evolved.   Most of our members reside in Ahwatukee, Chandler, Gilbert Mesa and Tempe.
  • Members are defined as students in grades 6 -12 and their parent(s) or guardians.
  • Parents/guardians are required to hold a leadership position in EVSC during your student's membership in the club. The various leadership positions available are board members, philanthropy liaisons, and committee positions.

Attendance Requirements:

  • General Meetings: All members (students and parent/guardians) are required to attend a minimum of two general membership meetings per year. General meetings usually coincide with an EVSC group project and will be held in September, January and April.
  • Philanthropy Hours: Students must register for events on the EVSC calendar.  All philanthropy hours must be logged into the EVSC website. The hours requirements based on grade level are as follows:

Grade 6: Minimum of 10 service hours
Grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11:  minimum of 15 service hours
Grade 12: Minimum of 10 service hours

The goal of strengthening relationships has been identified as a critical goal of the organization. With this in mind, parents are asked to accompany their student to as many philanthropy events as possible.

  • Membership dues for first student (includes one or two parents/guardians): $60
